"Packaging was just okay, nothing special"
I ordered from shokuninusa.com and the item did arrive fine, so I want to be fair about that part. The order showed up, the product itself was okay, and nothing was missing or damaged, which is obviously the main thing I cared about.
That said, the packaging felt average to me. The box had a dent on one side, and when I opened it there just wasn’t much padding inside, so it didn’t really give me that feeling that the item had been packed with a lot of care. Maybe it was totally fine for shipping, but when you see a dented box and minimal padding, you kind of start checking everything twice.
For the price, I expected the packing to be a little more secure. It wasn’t horrible, and like I said, nothing actually broke, but it felt like one of those situations where it could have gone wrong if the package had been handled roughly. Overall, not a terrible experience, just something I think they could improve. 3 stars from me.

Ordering was kind of a hassle. The checkout felt like it took around a few extra minutes longer than it should have, and by the end I was just annoyed trying to finish the purchase

I’m not totally convinced this is authentic. The listing made it sound like I’d be getting the real deal, but once it arrived, something just felt off. Maybe it’s the quality or the details, but it doesn’t quite match what was promised.

I get that I’m not always the quickest to respond either, so maybe I’m being a bit impatient, but the replies here took way too long. I was trying to sort things out between work and everything else, and waiting around just made the whole experience more frustrating than it needed to be
"Looked great, but the edge faded fast"
The knife looks really nice, I’ll give it that, and it felt good at first. But yeah, after just a few dinners it was already starting to feel dull, which was kind of disappointing. I mean, it’s not a bad knife or anything, and maybe I’m just picky, but for the price I thought the edge would hold up longer. Had to sharpen it way sooner than I expected.

They’ve got some nice items, and I did find a couple things I liked, but the selection felt a little limited overall. Maybe I just came at the wrong time or they hadn’t restocked yet, but I was hoping to see a bit more variety.

"Frustrating customer service and vague replies"
I tried reaching out to shokuninusa.com about my order, but it felt like pulling teeth. The replies took forever, and when they did respond, it didn’t seem like they actually read what I wrote. I kept having to explain the same thing over and over, and even then, I never got a clear answer. The lack of clear communication was really annoying. Definitely not an experience that makes me want to order from them again.

"Prices are okay, but not always amazing"
I ordered from shokuninusa.com, and the prices felt mostly fair, but not really what I’d call cheap. Some things seemed worth it for the quality, while a few items felt a little higher than I expected.
Once shipping and the extra costs were added in, it didn’t feel like as much of a deal. It’s not bad overall, I just really wish the pricing was a bit more consistent across the site

I mean, I was expecting this to be sharp when it showed up, but yeah, it really wasn’t. I tried using it for just basic kitchen stuff, nothing crazy, and it kind of dragged through things more than my old cheap knife, which was disappointing.
Maybe I just ended up with a bad one, I don’t know, but for the price, I was definitely not thrilled. I had to sharpen it myself right away, and, like, that sort of defeats the whole point of buying a new knife.

I ordered from shokuninusa.com and my first impression was positive because the item looked nice out of the box. But after using it a bit, I started noticing a pattern with the build quality, a few parts just felt cheaper and less sturdy than I expected. It does work, so it’s not a total miss, but for the price I was hoping for something that felt more solid overall. Shipping was fine, but the product itself left me a little disappointed.

My order did show up and the product was fine when it arrived, but the shipping took longer than I expected. It wasn’t terrible, just average, and the tracking barely updated, which made it hard to know what was going on. that kind of made me lose a bit of trust in the whole process. I’d give it 3 stars.

"Return took way longer than I expected"
I expected the return process to be straightforward, but it ended up being more of a hassle than I was prepared for. I sent the item back and then had to keep checking in just to get an update. The refund took much longer than I thought it would, and the responses were slow too. Maybe my experience was just unlucky, but based on what I expected from a normal return, this was frustrating. I don’t think I’ll be ordering again.

It’s basically what was described, so no complaints there. I just expected a little more for the price?! It’s fine overall, but I’m not sure I’d call it a great deal.

"Not a great experience"
I wasn’t really happy with it, honestly. The site looked fine at first. Normal. But once I started using it, it just felt clunky. More annoying than it needed to be.
Maybe it works better for other people. For me, not really. I didn’t feel super confident going through the process, and it ended up being a letdown. I probably wouldn’t use shokuninusa.com again unless a lot changes.

The checkout went through okay, but the security part wasn’t exactly clear. I kind of felt like they could’ve made it more obvious what protections were in place before asking for payment.

"Disappointed by the steel quality"
I was excited when this arrived because I’d been looking forward to using it, and I still remember that first bit of disappointment when the edge chipped after only light use. For the price, I expected it to feel a lot more solid and hold its sharpness better, but it just didn’t.
Maybe I happened to get a bad one, but it left me feeling let down every time I picked it up after that. I really wanted to like it, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t buy it again.

I had a frustrating time using the site on my phone. Pages were loading slowly, and trying to find the right sizes was more annoying than it should’ve been. Checkout did go through fine, but the whole experience felt clunky. It also kind of gave me that feeling of being just another ticket number rather than an actual customer.

I’ll give it this: the knife looks good sitting on the counter. But once I actually used it for a bit, the handle started feeling weird in my hand, like whoever designed it never actually chopped anything with it. It gets uncomfortable quickly and the grip feels kind of awkward. Maybe there’s some secret perfect-hand-shape club this was made for, but I’m apparently not in it. It might work fine for other people, but for me it just wasn’t that enjoyable to use.

I ordered weeks ago and still haven’t received anything. The tracking is impressively unhelpful, and customer support basically just keeps telling me to wait. I guess they’re really good at testing your patience, but I won’t be ordering from them again.

I wasn’t too impressed. Once I paid, it kind of felt like the care just disappeared. The edges were uneven, and the finish had a few small flaws that made the whole thing seem rushed. I was hoping for better craftsmanship, but it left me feeling a bit distrustful after the payment went through.
